On the afternoon of Tuesday 11 April, together with members of the Municipal Youth Council of the Municipality of Larissa, we followed one of the routes of the MAKE USE map, the route of the “walls that speak”.
We shared information about various official and unofficial murals of the city, talked about the aesthetics of the space and fruitfully addressed the issue of the limits of personal, collective and artistic expression.
We approached the city walls as a dialectical space, where local history and culture is recorded, especially those parts of it that do not find a platform for expression in the dominant political, social and artistic discourse.
We saw with our own eyes the recent evolution of the walls. The event in Tempi has already been documented under the Alcazar bridge, with at least two graffitis (one, signed by the Students’ Coordination Committee, as can be seen in the photo).
