MAKE USE MAP IN THE DIACHRONIC MUSEUM!

At least 200 copies (in Greek and in English) of the MAKE USE map of Larissa are available free of charge from today to visitors of the Diachronic Museum of Larissa.

On Wednesday 12 April, members of the group met with the Head of the Antiquities Ephorate of Larissa, Mrs Stavroula Strolia, toured the museum, talked about the map and the process of its creation, the concept of timelessness (or diachrony) and the “here and now” of youth participation in the community.

This visit was very important for the team as the Diachronic Museum of Larissa has played a role in the design of the map, from its very early stages. The map includes routes that are up to 40 minutes walking distance from the city centre in order to include the Diachronic Museum and the hill of Mezourlo. In addition, the concept of diachrony experienced through the visit to the Diachronic Museum is also presented on the map through the “rolling stones” that connect public space and time (from the workshops that Konstantina Kontsa conducted in the group).

On Tuesday 9 May, the group will participate with its map in the conference “Spiritus Loci: Reshaping the topical and diachronic meaning of Cultural Heritage” co-organized by the Synergy of Music Theatre and the Antiquities Ephorate of Larissa, in the conference hall of the Museum.
