Youth work refers to activities that deliberately seek to influence young people, educationally, politically, participatively, socially and culturally. To this end, a number of organizations have been set up in Europe and the rest of the world to offer similar opportunities. However, although the terminology includes the concept of work, in fact it often refers to voluntary work and – at best – covering the basic costs of employees.

The European youth network Generation Europe – The Academy is making a major effort, with a series of actions, to change this. Last June, youth workers, team leaders, team trainers and project managers met in Budapest to share tools and know-how on advocacy and lobbying for youth work.

In order to communicate all this information gathered in that workshop, the MAKE USE team created an online workshop where participants will become familiar with tools that support the argumentation for youth work, and any other youth-related concept, towards local government and the state.

The workshop will take place on Monday 7 November at 19:00 via Zoom, facilitated by Katerina Kokkinou (MAKE USE). It is the first of a series of workshops that will be held free of charge via the website https://makeuse.gr/, which aims to function as a virtual (until it becomes a real one) youth centre.
